Pharmacy Technician Certificate

This program teaches the skills needed to gain employment as a Pharmacy Tech in either the hospital or retail setting. The goal is to provide graduates with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to qualify for entry-level positions in pharmacies as well as prepare for national certification. We are so confident in the quality of our program that we will keep paying for students who pass our final exam to take the national PTCE exam until you pass! These are usually $129 each. No other program makes this guarantee.

Earnings
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) is forecasting that, through 2018, jobs for pharmacy technicians will grow much faster than average and that job prospects will be good. The projection is that there will be nearly 100,000 new jobs in the next several years. The BLS also reports that the median annual wage for pharmacy technicians is $27,710, going to nearly $40,000 for those in the top 10%.

Certification
Though regulations vary, most states will accept those who have passed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board exam (called PTCE) in order to become licensed. Our program prepares students for success on this accrediting exam, which is why we will keep paying for students who pass our final exam to sit for the PTCE until they pass.

Please visit the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy site for details about your state’s requirements (look for the link to ‘Boards of Pharmacy’). Typically these include passing the PTCB exam in addition to submitting fingerprints and undergoing a background check.
